MISSION STATEMENT

To provide training aimed at producing quality graduates in agriculture for the public, private sector and non-governmental organizations as well as the provision of quality consultancy services in order to develop a suitable and viable agricultural sector that will ensure food security and income generation at household and national levels and maximize the sector’s contribution to the Gross Domestic Product”.

Zambia College of Agriculture - Monze is a public institution under the Ministry of Agriculture. ZCA – Monze offers Two Year Certificate in General Agriculture and Three-Year Diploma in General Agriculture level training underwritten by the University of Zambia. The two programs offered by the College are Accredited by the Higher Education Authority (HEA). The College also offers training in various agricultural short courses underwritten by TEVETA. The College puts much emphasis on practical training which makes us Zambia's top practical oriented agricultural college. About ZCA Monze

Zambia College of Agriculture – Monze [ZCA] is a Government Agricultural Training Institution offering Agricultural training to both In-service and Pre-service students. The College falls under the Ministry of Agriculture.

The college is located in Monze District, 190 kilometers south of Lusaka and 5 kilometers to the east of Monze town.

Study Modes

You can choose to study from one of the following study modes

Fulltime (Boarding)

Full-time students in the boarding are provided with accommodation, meals and free WIFI within the hostels. The college provide the bed space with a mattress. Students are required to come with their own beddings and utensils. With on-campus 24/7 government clinic.

Fulltime (Day scholar)

Access daily classes, library facilities, sports, academic support and enjoy free WIFI 24/7 within the campus. The college provide self-catering accommodation at minimal fee to some Day Scholars. However, Day Scholars are free to find their own accommodation that suits their pockets. Student under self-catering is required to come with their own mattresses and utensils. Students who want to feed from the college dinning hall are required to pay separate fees for three meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Supper) determined by the management.

Distance Learning

Under distance mode students are enrolled as boarders. Students are required to report for residential in January and July every academic year. The residential for distance learners is five weeks each semester. The first week is for revision, the second and third week is for examinations and the remaining two weeks is for introduction to learning materials. Classes, assignments and quizzes are conducted virtually through our e-learning platform.

Certificate In General Agriculture

The Certificate in General Agriculture is a two-year program and you can enrol to study either fulltime or by Distance Learning.

To complete the Program Certificate in General Agriculture the student has to clear all the four semester courses. Click link below to view the courses

Diploma In General Agriculture

The Certificate in General Agriculture is a three-year program and you can enrol to study either fulltime or by Distance Learning.

To complete this program the student has to clear all the courses in each of the six semesters. The following is the list of courses per semester.

Our College Facilities

College Farm

Zambia College of Agriculture - Monze is an Agricultural Training Institution (ATI) under the ministry of agriculture (MoA). The college farm unit serve as practical learning space for our agricultural students pursuing both Certificate and Diploma in General Agriculture. We offer hands-on experience through on site-classes mainly in crop and livestock production. It is also used for research projects related to different crop and livestock improvement, pest control, and other agricultural smart advancements.

College farm allows students from other colleges/universities to be attached in order to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world farming settings. It has served as a model for farmers, showcasing new technologies and farming techniques.

Other than serving as a Training Laboratory for students’ during practical’s, conducting on-farm research and facilitation of students’ research projects, the farm is mandated to secure and maintain farm infrastructure, implements and machinery. it also generates income for the college through commercial production for both livestock and crops.

Computer Laboratory/WIFI

The college is equipped with Up-to-date computer laboratory. All the computers are internet enabled to facilitate students to carry out research and also to access electronic learning materials. The college main campus, the farm and student hostels are installed with WIFI routers to enable students and trainers’ access to online materials.
